Practice Manager + Principle Doula
Leah is a warmhearted and nurturing doula. Her path toward birth work began with a desire to better understand and connect with her female body. This journey, along with her university studies in women's history and health advocacy, formed Leah's desire to use education, mindfulness, and love to support women's empowerment in their reproductive choices and experiences. When she first learned of doula work, she was immediately intrigued, and completed her labor doula training under Expecting(nyc)'s founder, Kristy Zadrozny, not long after.
Leah believes in the beauty and power of birth, and the many different ways it manifests. Every woman deserves a healthy, nonjudgmental, and satisfying birth story, and Leah is committed to holding space so that you may make informed decisions to feel supported in all your mind and body needs. She encourages asking questions, staying in the present moment, trusting your body, and keeping an open and loving heart. She is soft-spoken, empathetic, and supportive of all choices and identities.
Originally from small-town Minnesota, Leah now calls Queens home. She relishes being in nature and surrounding herself with sound. A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, she is now studying herbalism at ArborVitae and volunteers with the Doula Project as a full spectrum doula.
